Experience: Dr. Olson is a retired research scientist from the University of Texas at Austin. His final position at the University was Chief Economist at the Center for Studies in Human Resources. Prior to that, he was Associate Director of the Bureau of Business Research. His primary function in these positions was to provide quantitative and statistical expertise. While at the University, Dr. Olson also taught graduate-level courses in Economics, Statistics, and Econometrics at the School of Business and at the LBJ School of Public Affairs. Prior to becoming an economist, Dr. Olson served for five years as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy. At Bill Bigler Associates Dr. Olson will lead the efforts to measure and assess our clients’ Environmental Carrying Capacity. We are excited to have Jerry join our team in this crucial role.
Publications: Dr. Olson’s published works include two book chapters, five articles in referred journals, and more than fifty other reports and monographs. A complete list is available on request.
Legal Experience: Dr. Olson has testified and been stipulated as an expert in court as well as deposition. He has testified at various levels of government including Federal, state, county, and administrative law courts.
Legislative Experience: Dr. Olson has testified before various State House and Senate committees regarding taxation and school finance issues.
